tending to heart
Your robes of grief, a mantle of dignity, affirm the heart. Grief acknowledged is one of the greatest witnesses to heart. Your sorrow, a heavy tangle of truncated affections, is a cry confirming you were made for connection. Those with scissors cutting strings were not willing or able to know you. The world is wider than the nay-sayers, lost and lazy lovers crooning from afar, children of fear who strive to make everyone believe they are as cold, cruel, and cowardly as their shadows. They do not deserve your company. A living, feeling heart, You deserve the sun, the moon, the air, The peace of accompanying yourself, Waking spring and the dreams of gentle communion. That ache inside your soul, though bitter, Is a call to remind that you are worthy. Your heart matters. Not all who approach your heart are worthy of its presence.
